Notes on the Reinvention of Jaime
Today I wanted to make the day feel good without feeling guilty about it.
I lounged, read, did dishes. I planned my week. I lit a fire in the backyard, and Matthew came out and hung out with me for a while. Goose (our dog) seemed very confused by the whole thing. Why were we hanging out where there wasn’t comfy furniture?
I also went for a walk tonight and went by the caboose bed and breakfast near my house since I heard they recently added another caboose.
I didn’t want to skip my tasks, though (I am a woman who follows through on her streaks!, so I did a few little things. I cleaned out and wiped down the potholder drawer, which was a very satisfying quick win. I researched some Etsy products through a membership I am in and an email that came from another membership. And I wrote this.
The book I started reading today, Penny Plain, by O. Douglas, is so charming and inspiring for reading and housekeeping.
I’m counting today as a good day. I didn’t feel like I settled at all.
I did my September things, but I also let myself enjoy a glorious late summer day. Worth it.
Tomorrow is planned as a Work for Jaime day since it’s a holiday.
We’ll see what happens.
