Notes on the Reinvention of Jaime
Today was a pretty ordinary workday, followed by a pretty ordinary evening. I was probably overly relaxed after work, and I didn’t do any big things.
But I did my September things.
For my house, I cleared the floor in front of the washer and dryer. It tends to become the place where things collect when they come out of the laundry and we don’t know what to do with them. Plus there were empty detergent bottles and dryer sheet boxes that don’t fit in the tiny trash can (which really only exists to hold dryer lint). So that little area is much better now.
For Etsy, I learned how to make dollhouse flatlays. They are darling, and now I’m thinking about making some that look like Valancy’s cabin from The Blue Castle. Technically Barney’s cabin, I guess. But once a woman moves in, it seems like the house becomes hers regardless of how things were before marriage.
I stopped at Aldi on the way home, mostly because I’d seen some candles on Facebook and Instagram and wanted to see if they had them.
I scored one of the two I was looking for: a clear glass sparkly pumpkin candle that almost looks like mercury glass. I also grabbed another candle that smells like Yankee Candle’s Macintosh candle, but it’s green and is called merely “harvest”. The pumpkin shaped jar is much cuter, though.
And then I got lured into the Aisle of Shame and bought mushroom bag clips.
I have a very hard time walking away from mushroom decor, especially the red-capped kind.
I went on two walks today. (Because of the dog, but it still counts.)
So, no great accomplishments today. Just a cleaner laundry area, some Etsy learning, two walks, and a sparkly pumpkin candle sitting on my desk.
Honestly, that sounds like a pretty good Wednesday to me.
