Notes on the Reinvention of Jaime
I was happily imagining that nobody was reading this, and I could just write for myself, but, alas, I have a very tiny single digit audience. Hello. Thank you for reading and I’m sort of embarrassed. I’m just doing this series to let my nervous system know it’s ok to put myself out there and it ends up being more journal than story. Aren’t you glad they’re short?
Today was a little different because I had an in-person event at a building in my neighborhood that is being rehabbed. I’m giving myself some credit for things that weren’t quite what I originally planned.
For my house task, I’m counting washing my bedding. It needed to be done, and clean sheets are always a win, especially on the days you shave your legs (right, ladies?).
I also got a lot of steps in today, so that counts for my health related item.
And Etsy? Well, I didn’t actually do anything for Etsy. But I did get some ideas at the Eavey Building tour for things I could potentially sell in my shop, so we’re going to count that.
The best part of the day, though, was the Eavey Building tour. I was especially excited to hear that they are going to try to move forward with my vision for a porch/deck. A few years ago when my city was getting input from the community about our historic distract, I made a suggestion that when the Eavey Building was rehabbed that they add a porch along the bike path. It’s part of the plan!
So now when it’s done, when I walk along there, I can look at it and say, “Hey, that exists because I suggested it!”
That made me very happy.
There’s something really quite satisfying about seeing an idea that has been living in your head start to become an actual possibility.
I also photographed a vision dinner for Hope Hub, a ministry to women coming out of addiction that is also in my neighborhood.
